Dan was a wonderful, caring man. I met Dan at MCCDC about a year ago or so. He immediatelty opened his heart to me, and was very inspirational for me in my recovery. He always had a smile and a hug for me when we would see each other at church. I will miss you Dan and know you will soar with the angels.

Dan was one of the most generous men I have ever known. He was generous in so many ways and had such a heart for God and for the people he loved. His wisdom and quiet strength will remain with me. I know that he is overseeing some wonderful project in heaven.

I thank God for lending us Dan...

With love,

Lisa

Dan Schellhorn was my nephew and one of my very favorite people. He was bright, always upbeat, and always a pleasure to be with. It can certainly be said of Dan that the world is a better place because of his being here, May he rest in peace.

If there was ever a man that I would aspire to be like, it was Dan. I met Dan back in 1999. I joined MCC-DC and soon became one of the musicians for the Gospel Choir. It was a very difficult time in my life, going through health issues as well as a rather sketchy relationship. I found myself single, struggling and trying to keep my head up so that I could continue my duties at church. I met Dan. He greeted me with a smile and encouragement. I was in need of a place to stay, and he reasonably rented a 2BR condo to me on New York Avenue. Knowing that I was dealing with health issues and depression, Dan constantly checked in on me, and was there to talk whenever I needed it. It is because of him, that I have achieved the things that I have now. I know that if anyone does, Dan has a place with God amongst the angels. I love him and will miss him dearly.
